An important aspect of chemical industry involves suitable packaging of the chemicals to ensure their ease of usage and maintenance of chemical integrity. Introduction of reusable packaging systems and septum cap packaging are few innovative initiatives in the chemical packaging industry. The reusable safety packaging has […]
The key impediment to a cure for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection is the presence of latent, HIV-infected cells, which can come back and produce new viruses when antiretroviral drug therapy is stopped. These latent, HIV-infected cells remain untouched by antiretroviral therapy and are not recognized by our immune system. Recently, researchers at Blood Systems Research Institute (BSRI), the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), and the University of Hawaii have reported that how a specific sugar coating on the surface of human cells affect the fate of the HIV that lies inside and might be helpful to eradicate the biggest fear of mankind.
In last few years, there is quite a buzz around storing digital data into DNA and it has gained huge impetus in both research institutes and industries trying to capitalize the vast opportunities in the information technology age. In 2013 Nick Goldman team at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory have encoded audio, image, and text files into a synthesized DNA molecule about the size of a dust grain, and then retrieve the information from the DNA with 99.99 percent accuracy. Last year, Microsoft has purchased ten million DNA sequences from a tech startup called Twist Bioscience, specifically for research into data storage. Microsoft is known to be working on DNA Storage in collaboration with the University of Washington. […]
On 23 June 2016, the people of Britain voted for Brexit- the Britain exit from the European Union (EU) in a historic referendum. Though Britain’s vote to leave the EU is not legally binding, and theoretically it could be blocked or overturned yet it would be seen as political suicide to go against […]
The Storage Crisis
While not all of that information needs to be saved, today the world is creating mind-boggling volume of data faster than the capacity to store with the current storage technologies.
In the last decade, India has observed a huge exponential growth in the internet and digital technologies which has unleashed vast opportunities for creation, production and distribution. With the advent of digital technology, now artists can more easily reach and understand audiences across the […]
In few short years, CRISPR-Cas (clustered, regularly interspaced, short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)–CRISPR-associated protein) technology has shown a stunning progress from intriguing prokaryotic defense systems to a powerful and versatile biomolecular tools in applications ranging from genome editing to molecular imaging.
Gene Therapy to Transform Biology
Over the past two years, the site specificity gene editing via CRISPR-Cas9 (clustered, regularly interspaced, short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)–CRISPR-associated protein) technology has shown a stunning progress, triggering a revolution in the genome wide studies
Patents with Ha-Ha-Ho-Ho-He-He
It is widely acknowledged that patent is a serious business, not a laughing matter. However, it is difficult to believe that patents can lack one of the most vital factor of human existence viz humor, especially if they are associated with almost every single thing in this world.
